You can purchase energy efficient water heaters through Southeast Colorado Power. We are stocking the Marathon brand of water heaters in 50 and 85 gallon size. Marathon brand water heaters have many features: LONG LIFE The seamless, blow-molded polybutylene tank is impervious to rust and corrosion. Multiple layers of filament wound fiberglass give the tank unmatched strength. The tank is designed, built and warranted not to leak "for as long as you can own your home." ENERGY EFFICIENCY Envirofoam insulation is free of ozone depleting CFC's and HCFC's so it can save the planet and saves energy. Pipe Wrap Energy Kit is included to reduce heat loss from plumbing lines. DURABILITY Recessed drained valve is out of the way of brooms and scrubbers. Tough molded outer shell resists dents and scratches. Bowl shaped bottom allows more complete sediment draining. FUNCTIONAL Factory installed Temperature and Pressure Relief Valve for greater value and security. Conduit between control boxes facilitates wiring for "Off-Peak" use. All plastic tank eliminates the need for an anode rod ~preventing potential odor problems. CONSTRUCTIONAL FEATURES ENERGY EFFICIENCY CREDITS Any Tri-State Member may choose to participate. Credits are available to all end-use customer classes. No other Tri-State energy efficiency credit or special rate/discount shall apply. Credit must be requested within 180 days of installation. Credit applies to new or replacement units that are purchased by or leased to, the consumer. Program requires a minimum size of 30 gallons capacity and a minimum 6-year warranty on the tank. Super efficient unit is defined as a water heating unit that utilizes direct exchange from a ground source or air source heat pump.
